LOOK: If you’re living in the southern part of Metro Manila, you can finally ride the first 🇵🇭-made Hybrid Electric Train (HET) from Alabang to Calamba stations of the Philippine National Railways starting May 6 🚊🚈
Developed by the DOST MIRDC, the HET is said to be more environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient, safer, and cheaper than imported trains operating in Metro Manila.
The HET has wide automatic sliding doors, fully air-conditioned cabins, LED TV sets, and a CCTV system. It also has a speed 60-80 kilometers per hour and a capacity of up to 220 passengers per coach.
